The CLAW has surpassed its previous fundraising efforts and has collected the magnificent sum of $1,059.10 to bestow on this year’s winning applicant. That is, if we get an applicant. With the deadline of March 15^th only a week away The CLAW has yet to get a single application. We ask that you share this link with students you know who are trying to master the glorious technique of sequential art. The scholarship is awarded based on artistic merit, wit, and whims of the judges.

Applicants must:

1. Provide evidence they are enrolled in college.
2. They are capable of filling out a form and following its instructions.
3. Have a letter of recommendation
4. Show samples of their cartoon brilliance.

This interview came about because of The C.L.A.W.! I first met Saint Bryan, a fellow Tacomanite, at last year’s 24 Hour Comic Challenge. If you recall The CLAW was doing a combination fundraiser for Comic Book Ink and The CLAW Student Scholarship Fund. Saint made a donation and he received on of the brown bag cards, which happened to have some of my art on it. I was drawing How to have a Table at a Comic Book Convention and we chatted for a bit. I would later run into him at ZomBcon where he would get a chance to see my book and other stuff. It was then he asked me if I would be willing to draw some pictures for an interview. We did the filming back in December. I want to thanks Comic Book Ink for being a backdrop to for some of that interview.

Last year you laughed so hard you nearly peed. You remember the terror of 2009. And you’ve been waiting all year for this magical, yet horrifying event. Yes! Once again it’s time for The CLAW’s Annual White Elephant Gift Exchange. Anybody is welcome. What do you need to bring? You don’t need to bring a gift to watch the spectacle. But this might be just the place to get rid of that ‘thing’ you loving aunt gave you last year.

This year the Four Eye Council, with support of the Talons of the CLAW, declare the White Elephant rules as:

1. Gifts, if new, should be less than $10.
2. Once a gift is taken of the table it MUST be unwrapped.
3. A gift can be stolen twice, and then it is locked in.
4. A person cannot steal the same gift twice.
5. You can only get a present if you bring a present.
6. You can bring more than one present.
7. Spare presents number will be awarded though a rock-paper-scissors competition by all who want to participate.
