The CLAW has surpassed its previous fundraising efforts and has collected the magnificent sum of $1,059.10 to bestow on this year’s winning applicant. That is, if we get an applicant. With the deadline of March 15^th only a week away The CLAW has yet to get a single application. We ask that you share this link with students you know who are trying to master the glorious technique of sequential art. The scholarship is awarded based on artistic merit, wit, and whims of the judges.

Applicants must:

1. Provide evidence they are enrolled in college.
2. They are capable of filling out a form and following its instructions.
3. Have a letter of recommendation
4. Show samples of their cartoon brilliance.

The CLAW is proud to announce it’s new Flying Monkey T-shirt!

This daring red shirt with looming black ink will exhibit on your chest the amazing artwork of James Tiberius Stowe. This Flying Monkey design was first shown to the public during Tacoma’s 2012 Wayzgoose celebration, where four rare steamroller prints were made. The CLAW is answering the public’s demand for this design by put on t-shirts!

But wait! There’s more! You can order your shirt in ANY size today! That’s right! You can order a Child’s Medium, a Woman’s Small, A Man’s 4X & Tall. But you must order before Noon Friday! That’s when the order gets phoned into the printer so that we will have these shirts in time to sell at the Emerald City Comic Con (Artists Alley Table F-10). As our thank you for your pre-order shipping will be FREE! (within the USA and Canada). Shirts are $20 for sizes Children, Women, and Men’s sizes Small through 2XL. Last year you laughed so hard you nearly peed. You remember the terror of 2009. And you’ve been waiting all year for this magical, yet horrifying event. Yes! Once again it’s time for The CLAW’s Annual White Elephant Gift Exchange. Anybody is welcome. What do you need to bring? You don’t need to bring a gift to watch the spectacle. But this might be just the place to get rid of that ‘thing’ you loving aunt gave you last year.

This year the Four Eye Council, with support of the Talons of the CLAW, declare the White Elephant rules as:

1. Gifts, if new, should be less than $10.
2. Once a gift is taken of the table it MUST be unwrapped.
3. A gift can be stolen twice, and then it is locked in.
4. A person cannot steal the same gift twice.
5. You can only get a present if you bring a present.
6. You can bring more than one present.
7. Spare presents number will be awarded though a rock-paper-scissors competition by all who want to participate.
