Bio: In 2003 I began a comic and a life journey, “Nick Butler’s Head Trip.” The Head Trip was a semi-autobiographical vampire tale, structured on my life from 2001 – 2005. In 2003 the internet bust sent me west to seek my creativity. There I found animation and rediscoverd my life for comic books. In 2004, I created my first comic on the copy machine of the Head Quarters of Color Me Mine, and ceramics painting studio, and the rest was history. The book was a combiniation of my journaling and art, I produced a small run and gave them to very close friends. Then began the epic struggle to createbook two, but being your own muse can only go so far before it implodes, and one of the hardest things to do is put down a project. When you finally put down a stalled project the next one you pick up will have new life, and the head trip along with a few other project have help me develop both my writing voice and drawing skills. I am currently working on a strip tentatively named: Riot Grrl Ink, originally called Bunnie and Kat, Legend of the Broken Hearts. The story follow two zine writers who find out that the most interesting people they know are right in front of them.
