June OPEN SWIM Announcement

Join CLAW at Kings Books on Wednesday evening for an OPEN SWIM to celebrate the comic industry’s recent surge of acceptance and equality!  Following DC’s announcement that an established character would burst his way Out of the closet, and on the heels of Marvel’s own in-book wedding of two Gay characters, CLAW asks the question: How would YOU celebrate the Fabulous Alternative Lifestyles of the Super and Powerful?  Take your favorite hero(es) and show us how they would live their lives and show their pride as dazzling members of the LGBT Community!

Prizes will be awarded for the audience-favorite display of CREATIVE FABULOSITY!

CLAW Member Makes the OUT100!

CLAW Four-Eyes Council Member, Mark Brill, along with his writing partner and publisher of Northwest Press, Charles “Zan” Christensen, are being featured in this month’s special issue of OUT Magazine. They are part of the prestigious OUT100 list of individuals who are considered to have made a positive or valuable contribution to the LGBT community in 2011.

The honor was bestowed for creating the anti-bullying comic book “The Power Within”, which began life at the 24 Hour Comic Book event in October of last year.  Although the book wasn’t finished that day, it ultimately took on a life of its own, culminating in the international recognition of being recognized by OUT Magazine!
